Hi. I know this thread is old but I have a similar situation. But in reverse. I’m not sure with all the new delta sky club rules.

I bought a ticket on delta for MEX-LAX-HNL. First class both legs.

the MEX-LAX is operated by Aeromexico. Premier.
the LAX-HNL is operated by Delta. First class. NOT delta one.

A) will I be granted access at LAX?
B) the layover is almost 7 hours long. Can I enter as soon as I land? Or do I wait 4 hours? (3 hour before flight rule).

ALSO I have no AMEX platinum. No delta or SkyTeam status.
