Everyone’s different. Both my husband and kid are night owls and find it horribly easy to stay awake the whole night before checking in and boarding for a morning departure. And the kid is still small and supple enough to sleep well over our laps (our parental bodies are still her favourite furniture!).
Departing at 9am after a night without sleep to collapse in our seats and arrive at 7am (hopefully in time for a breakfast buffet at Haneda Airport Garden before arriving at granddad’s house) is very definitely “the one” for us, our ultimate reward for this tried and tested approach is 🥁 No Jet Lag🎊🎉🏅
Interesting... with the exception of departures from the Middle East around ~3am, I've never been brave enough to try staying up all night before a morning flight, in case it's impossible to sleep on the flight (e.g. screaming baby next seat) or there's some kind of long delay/cancellation.. maybe I should try
