To me, by far the biggest impact is the weight limit of 8kg _total_ for your carry-on. Normal gear for a work week will go over that, which would mean that you need to check bags every time. That adds easily an hour each way, plus the risk of lost luggage. I can understand the rationale behind the limitations on the number and volume of carry-on bags, but why control weight?
