I get a full can on UA every time and I’ve never asked. If you’re giving up more convenient routings or lower prices, I think you’re safe to come back. Their international routes, especially with the recent expansion, can’t be beat.

Would you recommend the OP leave Delta and never come back because he didn’t get a full can? Of course not. Nobody would.
