I'm back from my Germany trip with Condor.

Boarding passes list which overhead bin you've reserved, if any. There is no indication on the plane if a bin is reserved - but there was a note just under each bin on the flight to FRA that bins were reserveable. I did not see any such note on the way back. This seems like an awful system. I think the only reason it worked is because probably nobody reserved a bin.

They were measuring and weighing some folk's bags - but did not seem overly diligent. My wife's bags (which are very small) got weighed and were slightly over (too much German chocolate!) but as soon as she mentioned she could move stuff to my luggage they just let her through anyway.

Condor seems like an acceptable no frills airline. Biggest complaint was the repeated advertisements on the entertainment system. Second biggest complaint is that they charge you to choose type of meal - $27/person/leg I think. Luckily all food served was vegetarian anyway (I am vegetarian).
