You seem to be obsessed with "commercial value" for some reason, as if BA should have left the cargo behind in order not to cause the passengers this minor inconvenience. The reality is if they had been made to choose, I suspect they would have actually left the passengers behind as the cargo may well have been more valuable. I imagine BA thought most passengers could manage waiting 30 minutes to get off for this one occasion. Obviously not ideal, but also not the end of the world.
