One note is that we would be booked as Guest of Honor if we can't hit Globalist in time, so curious whether one property might have a higher chance of upgrade than the other (I know both may be tough given the slightly longer stay... we could also stay at both for a shorter stay at each). From what I've gathered in this thread, HdL has smaller but brighter rooms while PHV has larger, quieter, and typically darker rooms. For breakfast, PHV allows room service hassle free while HdL charges a fee, but otherwise the food itself is a wash.
I don't mind paying more for PHV if it is clearly better, but have heard that some find the rooms dated, and if HdL is truly a better experience then we might as well save the points - but curious if anyone has any thoughts, especially for a honeymoon stay!
I absolutely loved the HdL. To this day, it’s one of my favorite memories. The rooms were quintessentially Parisian, bright, and quite airy. Timeless as well. Plus the location is unbeatable. You’re *right* in front of the Louvre. Michelin star restaurants are within a 5 minute walk. The entrance to the metro is 30 seconds from the front door.
if you can negotiate an upgrade to a Pissarro suite for a few nights ( I did with cash), it’s literally bliss walking into the views of the opera garnier on your private balconies.
