trust it only if EWR-MUC-CDG shows available as well. If not ... don't try this! An agent might be able to do this for you, but YMMV.
Worse comes to worse UA will re-instate EWR-MUC (UA metal)? So not much to lose to try it online unless the flight is near sold out. Problem is only when partner flights are involved since UA will have trouble re-instating them
