The JAL awards released at the end of the AS schedule are what JAL is willing to release now. Later they will likely release more, but that later could be many months from now. If you are looking for Economy, yeah, almost certainly more Y seats will be released at some point. Biz, probably at some point, F - don't hold your breath until a couple of weeks before travel.
A problem could be that they release more seats and someone else books them before you do. What then? If you don't have something on the books you may not be going, so I suggest booking what you can now and changing it if something better turns up later.
4/9 has been taken. 4/8 is still available (1J only), only via the reverse round-trip workaround. You should really read the post I linked to in my initial reply which describes this.
Edit:
I checked BA. Other than 1J 4/8, no more space out of SEA until 4/14 in Y, 4/15 in J. That may change by the time AS gets access to it.
