I must admit - coming from Josun Palace, the JW Seoul feels like a significant step down in terms of design. However, this was easily the best bed in Seoul - and one of the better ones I've tried globally. The addition of a lounge will also make this more desirable for some. Here are my pros, cons, and photos:
Pros:
- While I was initially only upgrade to a Club King, I was told at check-in that I would be in an Executive Suite
- The bed was phenomenal - super plush mattress, plush pillows, plush covers
- Shower pressure was good
- View towards the river is interesting - I won't say good as Seoul's apartment blocks aren't very stylish, but definitely interesting
- Left a bottle of wine and grapes - didn't partake, but the thought counts
- The lounge is very solid
- Really tasty hot cocoa and mochas
- Evening service had delightful carrot cake and is from 4:30 to 9
- Breakfast was quite tasty with made to order eggs, tasty pastries in a warming oven, and yummy french toast and waffles
- Service was friendly and well-intentioned
Cons:
- Was told they were 100% committed the day of departure (Saturday) and "asked" to take 12 PM checkout - I did not push back as I wanted to head to Hongdae
- No Internet steaming capabilities on the TVs
- Suite felt oddly empty with several corners that seemed like furniture could be added
- Elevator noise was very apparent - thought it was trains down below - didn't bother me, though
I'd return for the bed, but there are more inspired properties and locations in Seoul.
