Sadly this is common corporate thinking. If something doesn't directly generate profits they see it as meaningless. However, it misses the bigger picture of what sets some properties apart from others. At the rate of decline in services most of this mid-tier properties like Hyatt Regency etc will become pretty much obsolete as they dont really offer much above a Hyatt place/ Hyatt house or other budget and extended stay hotels. Pricing reflects this as in many markets where they have multiple properties the "budget" ones often command similar pricing to mid-tier ones.
