Alaska Airlines prides itself on offering unlimited complimentary upgrades *subject to availability* as an elite benefit of its MileagePlan; however, the automated upgrade system is not well implemented and doesn't represent AS' core values of integrity and CARE.

While the upgrade system works most of the time, it has several recurring issues that AS leadership has not demonstrated that they are concerned with or willing to fix, including these four:

(1) Upgrades often process out of order, along with seemingly inconsistent priority factors (status, purchase date, fare class)

(2) Revenue Management often “trickle-releases” one U seat at at a time, which diminishes if not completely eliminates the upgrade benefit for those traveling with a companion

(3) When Revenue Management releases U space, the system often fails to run at the corresponding elite upgrade windows

(4) AS CS has directed customers to use their own upgrade instruments or upfare with cash BECAUSE the system is non-operational

Q: Will AS commit to addressing these issues?

How about a question about futility of being able to use GGU.

Was looking at flights to LA and CVG in fall, no inventory. Sheesh. Where can these actually be used.
