How about for afternoon flights? We’ve got our first LCY coming up in June and departure time is something like 2:00pm.
We’re staying in the Canary Wharf area and I picked that flight in the name of not doing the slog back to LHR for my onward flight.
there is construction on the main road taxis take to LCY that can add a few mins of wait time. however i have been thru LCY four times in the last four weeks all at mid-day. not a single time has there been a queue at security, check in desks had queues of 2 people or so. wait areas seem to change week to week as they continue with construction in the main waiting area but still plenty of seating. about the same time if taking the DLR.
last week with parents we got in the taxi at noon, and were gate side by 1235 after checking bags and parents being a bit slow, then waited 25mins before boarding started. on my own i usually head over an hour before my flight and am gate side about 20mins later. very easy from canary wharf.
