Switching BA Amex Voucher for Barclays Cabin Upgrade

Hi all

I'm booked on a busy flight to SKG in October half term. I originally used my BA 2-4-1 club europe (as this was the only availability), whilst I also have 2 Barclays Cabin Upgrade vouchers (these expire this year)
I now need to use by Amex 2-4-1 for another Asia trip next year.

So I would like to cancel my Amex 2-4-1 booking and then re-book the same flights using my Barclays vouchers. Phoned BA who told me the flight is overbooked and if I cancelled my flights there is a high change the reward seats won't be re-opened and I could miss out on re-booking with the Barclays Cabin Vouchers.
If this is the case, I'll hang tight, but thought I would get your views on this

Any advice appreciated in advance and thanks for all the helpful advice given in the past.

Thanks
