Am not sure what this part means because, for the past decade or so, for our Europe-East Asia trips, generally we do fly via China.
The lowest priced London to Tokyo flights I’ve seen this year have been offered only recently by PRC carriers (in the £600 to £700 range), the benchmark is around £900 to £1,200/£1,400 for indirect fares.
Rock bottom for direct fares has been £1,050 without hold luggage and £1,200 for the non-freaks who shop and bring things to/from our friends & families.
This year will be our first direct flight to Japan from London since my teenager was born. It will also be our first summer in Japan, we never considered it before because the air fares are at their highest at this time as well as the high humid temperatures.
