I appreciate the replies and some of you have been not only helpful to me, but others too.

I felt my originally described situation was undesirable, and whilst I wouldn't mind saying I have been inside potentially the world's most chaotic airport, I decided now is not the time.

I changed my tact from Philippine Airlines and instead gone with Singapore Airlines with an overnight layover in SIN.
