If you've never been to SB, you should do SB. My parents live there part time and its a beautiful part of the world. Unfortunately, marriott hotels are few and far between, so my recommendation is if you want to do SB, pick another brand. This will also sound somehwat snobby, but ventura is not santa barbara. You'll regret staying there unless you want to explore ventura area, which is fine.
