At some point between April 10th and April 30th, 3321mi disappeared from my account with no record of it in the ledger. I have an email from May 5th (another one of those "invitation to event") showing a balance of 309,388.

The only interim activity was a flight posting for 1224 RDM and an award ticket/redeposit, both of which posted correctly.. So 311485 - 309388 + 1224 = 3321 which matches my balance history tracked by AwardWallet.

The agent I spoke with over the phone said her system used to give them a readout of the starting balance each month, but that it no longer does that. She recommended writing in as the servicing center keeps a YTD balance record that is inaccessible to her (but asserted that the information does exist).
Do you keep any records of miles withdraws or deposits? This could be posted to a date months old. Even a recent entery can be back dated
Try this, similar to prior suggestion but a little different with more details.

Go to View My UA
then View full activity details (under My activity)
Then at Mileage activity details. do the Downland , a .cvs file will appear, open (it will use excel on most systems) and the you have all activity since 1/1/2020. Search that for 3321 miles -- column I.
Or search for an negative activity -- this could be multiple item, anything unexpected?
