During covid, and also with the increase in oil prices, flight prices skyrocketed across the world. Now the pandemic restrictions are over and oil prices are much lower - prices have returned to normal across most of the world. Except Asia.

Pretty much every long haul flight I find from Asia to Europe / US is at least double what it was 3-4 years ago. It's completely at odds with other destinations, and as someone who needs to travel between Asia and Europe a lot, it's pretty frustrating.

Why are prices still so high for Asian flight tickets from major destinations (such as Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan) compared to everywhere else?
