Flyerfirsts, the Kierland is decent but is mainly about the waterpark, and to some degree the busyness of the area means you get a lot more dining choices at various pricepoints.. I really like The Phoenician for families- the family pool is really nice, the kid's club people are great, and the selection of activities for them is really good.
That Marriott was purpose built as a giant conference-center hotel, and is now revamping it's identity post pandemic- the have upped their F&B considerably, are adding a waterpark, and have built a bunch of pickleball courts to have a more family resort vibe.
