If you're getting extra satisfaction/reduced anxiety from booking about a year in advance (presumably so you're assured of having a seat), why shouldn't Flying Blue charge you? You're probably not alone: there probably are enough who have that approach that getting to T-300d and not having hit a target for awards booked on a flight is a sign that the price should drop.
Note that AFKL generally offers last seat award availability (except for the last two seats in P) so this tactic of booking as far out as possible to hoover up limited availability (which is the standard tactic on BA, for instance) might not be optimal.
I can book on award for today's BOS-CDG which takes off in just over 3 hours (as a demonstration that last seat means last seat)
