In addition to what other people said , there are moments throughout the year when you know that planes will be more crowded and/or prices will be higher

  • Trips to UAE are pretty cheap between april and november for obvious reasons
  • Booking your winter trip during summer is not always a good idea , as summer is typically the season when people think the most about travelling and prices are high
  • The usual peak dates depends on local context = holidays , events , etc ....

However the key to avoid high fares is flexibility about dates and departure/arrival airports

If they see a sudden peak in demand (not just talking about purchases) they will likely increase the price, so change the dates or airports and play with google flights first
