I think all that time they spent to perfect the onboard and lounge experiences, they should have spent some time on IRROPS handling.

The other problem I noticed was that the Flight Status on their website does not seem to show cancelled flights properly. For example, JX 2 on 6 MAY was cancelled (since the A350s were stuck at NRT), their website did not even show the flight. Instead it showed it for 7 MAY. Same for the return JX 1 on Sunday (leaves LAX after midnight Saturday). I don't know if it is their website's bug / lack of proper functionality or actually an effort to mislead.

Passengers on JX 2 on 6 MAY complained that they weren't told about the flight cancellation until they were at the gate - when JX should have known hours before the 23:40 departure. You can say there are communication and resource issues in NRT but in TPE?

I hope K Chang becomes a lot more humble after this episode and that he has capable people around him to handle things. He took a lot of people with him from BR and those people should be experienced enough to handle this sort of stuff. The other thing that shows his personality is when he did the interviews that day with the media, he kept saying "I", not "we". On one hand, it is good that he takes things personally. On the other hand, it is not good. If you have a strong leader like that in a organization, you might end up with a culture that is not good - employees might not feel empowered, don't speak up and defer all the decisions, etc.
