Under 2, you can voluntarily book a seat for the infant. At any point you can choose to sit them on your lap. Just request the safety belt extension before take off.
If it was me travelling, I’d take the business class seat if I were sure to get a long haul configuration. Then just take the infant on the lap.
Just to clarify this comment, for under 2, if I voluntarily book them a seat, am I also expected to have to bring the appropriate infant safety restraint equipment (car-seat, CARES harness etc.)?
Or is it acceptable that I just have the seat available for the infant, but I'll hold onto them for situations that require it (similar to if having a lap infant).
