There is no transit without visa at Chennai? (Maybe it would help if the OP provided more specifics of the flights---no dates required.)

PS I agree with the previous post regarding the companies "offering the visas". No companies are authorized to issue India visas. Only the Government of India issues visas. The companies only offer to help submit the application, and with electronic visa application, it is easy to DIY.
