OK, yeah - that's what I recall reading. So if someone doesn't "claim" the space promptly, is there a chance someone lower on list can snipe it? I'm thinking "yes", just as PZ space can be claimed before that associated waitlist (and priority therein) is addressed.
The button would probably disappear if the PN space became 0. If PN=1(or higher) persists, another 1K with lower YBM fare can snipe it, assuming that it is a new purchase. I doubt that UA would give the instant upgrade buttons to multiple eligible passengers, which are greater than the number of PN spaces. In this sense, someone lower on upgrade list (who are out of the range of PN space) won't snipe a seat.
