Yes it could be because of Star G. But it also depends on which station it is. I fly out of YQM and they never ever get anyone to try the sizer. Sometimes they would tell to gate check it free to some if it did look if the flights are full. Mine always fit the over head compartments. I am going to have a look at Monos too.
