As background, I'm working through my annual drive to and from Florida for next year and so far am up to 3 properties with this disclaimer - two in OH and one in TN. I'm prepared to deal with the sometimes unreasonable cancellation policies, but also old enough to remember when American Express introduced guaranteed-for-late-arrival hotel rates across all chains if you used their card. All the chains and other cards soon followed, leaving us with today's status quo. This is a new one on me where the guarantee works entirely in favor of the hotel.
