I have a connection in MIA to flagship F, do yeah, this dilutes the experience. I'm also EXP for decades (its easy with paid F and J). Lukily I'm a free agent know. People on FT generally have the point of view that the airlines should make policies that benefit them over everyone else. Airlines generally have the point of view that they should make policies that maximize their revenues. If you were that important to AA you would be CK and you would board before group 1. You're not, so you don't. Neither am I, but I also don't care, so it works out.
If AA added more groups, I would expect that EXP would be before first class. That's how it works on UA (1K preboards, F is group 1). Also, when I flew JL F before I had any OW status (real F, not domestic F) I was in the group after OWE, despite the fact that most of them were in economy. My experience was not "diluted" in the slightest. I also flew CX F and BA F before having OW status but I don't remember the boarding order there; I would expect that OWE was before me. This idea that first class should be valued ahead of those with status is not one that seems to be shared by most airlines.
