Recently, some media asked the Chinese Consulate General in Denpasar for information on the case of the death of a Chinese national in a hotel on May 1. A spokesman for the Consulate General answered the questions as follows:
A: Recently, two Chinese nationals were found dead at the Intercontinental Hotel in Bali. The Chinese Consulate General in Denpasar attaches great importance to the case and has maintained close contact with the local police and continued to follow the progress of the case. On May 5, Consul General Zhu Xinglong had an urgent meeting with the Director of the Denpasar Police to understand the investigation process of the case and to exchange views on ensuring the personal safety of Chinese citizens travelling in Bali.
The Denpasar police said that the Indonesian central and local government attached great importance to the case and requested the police to speed up the solving of the case. The Denpasar Police Department has set up a task force to investigate the case and will maintain close contact with the Chinese Consulate General in Denpasar. The Denpasar city government attaches great importance to the safety of Chinese tourists and will continue its efforts to take necessary measures to this end.
