According to Southern Metropolis(A Newspaper based in Southern China), the reporter learned that the head of the relevant forensic party said that the initial examination of the remains of the two deceased found that the wounds on the male deceased were caused by sharp objects, and the wounds on the female deceased's neck in the form of lines were suspected to be caused by pressure from objects such as ropes. No open wounds were found on the female victim's body, but there were abrasions on her forehead, arms and lower limbs, and linear bruises on her neck, suggesting that she may have been strangled during her life. As she had died in the hotel bathtub, a large amount of fluid was found in her stomach. There was also fluid coming from the mouth and nose of the deceased. Toxicology tests were carried out on the fluids in the body to determine whether the deceased had been poisoned during his life. The results of the toxicology examination and further instructions regarding the examination of the two bodies are awaited.

According to the hotel's CCTV footage, the female deceased went to the hotel on the night of 30 April to check in to room 4223 and on 1 May, at around 0017 hours, the male deceased arrived at the hotel lobby, met the female deceased and entered the room together, and on 1 May, at around 0050 hours, the male deceased left the room and appears to have stayed at the door of room 4222 next door to check on her before returning to his room. A hotel employee then provided a meal delivery service at around 0117 hours and stayed in the room for some time before leaving. Surveillance footage shows the male deceased climbing out of the room after that until 6.32pm, during which time no one else entered or left room 4223.

According to local media reports, local police are currently unable to conclude whether the two person committed suicide or were murdered, and will need to examine witnesses and investigate evidence such as CCTV footage found at the scene of the incident. However, police revealed that the victims' personal belongings were in the hotel room and were not missing.

The investigation into the death of the couple at the Intercontinental Hotel in Bali is still underway, and police have ruled out the possibility of a third person stealing the murder, according to the Surf News(Another Chinese Newspaper).
