Yes, it is because he has the credit card which gets us free checked bags. I just learned of the award ticket discount, so that would be an added benefit.

I just didnt know if "transferred points" from Amex would work in the Aeroplan Family Share bcuz Amex is stringent on you not being able to combine points with another member in Amex accounts unless they are an authorized user.
