Basically, 15 years ago CI charges about that much for it's outdated Business Class. Passengers are now paying about the same for a substandard service.

If I had to guess, axing the PE cabin is the economically correct decision even if unpopular among a minority, unless a much smaller PE cabin is created.
I think CI's 359 PE size is about right for the non-Golden routes. Small and comfortable.
