Contemplating this too. For the routes I mostly fly, the Saver club offers a $1 discount which isn't exactly anything to get too excited over. Does the membership discount apply to the big front seats? If so, then it's probably worth it for most who fly relatively frequently.
(as I’m sitting in 1C on a Spirit flight now…) Yes, it does discount the big front seats. In my experience $7-9 on flights of 2 hours or so and as high as $14-16 on longer haul. My usual route the fare discount is only $1 too but I buy much of the time at the airport (I travel weekly for work) so the savers club wouldn’t apply. But I made up for it in BFS in about two months.
