I’ve stayed at this hotel about 20 times in the past five years, including a couple of stays when it was the Concourse Hotel at LAX, while it was being refurbished to a Hyatt Regency and it should have been closed during the refurbishment because stays at the time were far less than pleasant. (I only stayed the second time in order to use a Hyatt gift card.).
One person’s best room is another person’s worst room. Some like a high floor, some like a low floor, some like to be close to the elevator, some like to be far from the elevator. Rooms facing south generally have a better view, it’s an unimpeded view of the airport and beyond. Rooms facing north mainly have a view of a large six story parking garage and a 8 to 10 story mostly abandoned building. The fitness center has wonderful views to the west and to the north.
I think the breakfast at this hotel is terrific, it’s a good part of the reason why I’ve stayed there so often. Some people think it’s rather basic and/or bland. Based on following this thread on a regular basis my estimate is that 20-30% (of people who post here) do not like the breakfast here and 70-80% do like it. There are several posts about the breakfast buffet, including photos (post # 1078), several pages up in this thread. The buffet has not changed significantly in the past few years, the à la carte menu has changed very slightly.
