Have you considered JW Marriott Desert Ridge? I've also been to events and stayed there. It has a lazy river and would probably be good for smaller kids.
We did look at Desert Ridge, but perhaps not enough, as I don't think we realized it has a lazy river. This will be Thanksgiving and the following days, is that a busy time in Phoenix? I've lost track of high season/low season (honestly post covid it seems like FL and AZ are one constant high season for some reason).
