I did book the SIN flight, we were anxious until we did the online check in and were offered upgrade to LP (CDG-SIN fpr 1499€). We didn't take it, LP was empty and business was full, so figured price might decrease.
When we arrived at the lounge in CGD we were greeted by AF employees with ipads strongly, vehemently offering the upgrade to LP, honestly, it was rather like a bazaar.
She showed us grainy pictures, telling us all about LP, and told us the offer was "just for us". We are newbies to Flying Blue and have no status except with Star Alliance and fly business and F regularly on LH/LX...
It was honestly very embarassing, and the weird thing was she offered the upgrade for more than in the app, emphazizing she had never seen such a good price for the upgrade. When we told her we had a lower offer in the app, she couldn't believe us.
I really feel like they were playing us.
Weird offering LP like that. If I fly LP I do want to take advantage of all the benefits, getting the car waiting from my arriving connection flight and so on...... and this looked soooo cheap......
Also she diminished F in LH and LX saying ah that's rubbish.......
Very odd reading in another thread that the upgrade to LP was even cheaper than our offer.......
We seriously found it very disturbing.
Business class with BEST was ok.
Service was great.
My blanket that was sealed had chewing gum on it.
Called a FA and telling her I would like another blanket because of the chewing gum that was glued all over my blanket, she provided me with a blanket from LP and was very accomodating (after?) the incident. I always had my glasses full, got snacks offered and she apologized sincerely.
All in all a product we would like to fly again, given the good service and the sheer amount of space in the seat, sleeping on the side was possible and i liked the big footrest area.
On the other hand, the seats are so torn, seats had been glued together with tape, my partner's seat was missing the cover at the footrest, and inside my storage compartment the red cover was also coming off.....
