If the plane has to land normally anyway, why not just continue to destination and do it there, if there are no signs of trouble? An abundance of caution?
Are you aware of any divert fields between HNL and the continental US? Because the only one I know of is big, blue and wet. Plus (and more to the point) you have no idea what structural damage may have occured. Of course you turn around and land. Might be nothing, might be a hairline crack that's going to widen under the forces of flight (including aloft winds of more than 200kmph).
