Can't give specifics to protect the innocent, but here goes.

Was on a flight from ABQ to ATL last week via DFW for the extra MQM's. I'd been on the road for 5 weeks straight, and was ready to throw in the towel on the extra MQM's so I went to the counter and asked about getting on the ABQ/ATL direct flight in V. GA says no chance, F is sold out.

So, I sit back down, and wait for my DFW flight on an RJ 45 minutes later. They call for boarding on the DFW flight, and the GA asks if I really want to go direct, was ATL my final destination, and did I have any checked bags. I told him that I wanted to go direct because I was tired, but needed to go through DFW for the MQM's as I was just a little short. No checked bags.

He asks for my BP, and voila - a few keystrokes later, whips out a BP for ABQ/ATL direct reclassed to A from K. In the end, I had a net loss of 87 whole MQM's, but the direct ride home was worth it all.

Kudos to him for making that happen, and nudging me into reach of PM. Now I have to make a MR from ATL/LAX via CVG on the 30th and it'll be a done deal.
