What you are referencing is earning in Mileage Plan on AA flights flown when your AS FF# is in the AA PNR.

You are correct, James. I just called American and they said that they do not have a 500 mile minimum, and that the 83 mile earning is correct (I didn't say "oh, what about the saver fare, maybe he should have gotten zero?")

Anyway, I talked to my husband and said your choices are getting fewer miles on AA but getting free Exit Row seats plus a free checked bag - or not. No brainer. He'll take care of the seats and bags, and I'll be the mileage earner with AS.

But wow, what a crappy "partnership".
