Your husband should have earned at least 500 miles.
That is not correct! The flight was credited to AA and AA rules in AAdvantage for earning on Alaska Flights prevail. AAdvantage Loyalty points earned on AS flights is based on fare class & distance flown. There is no minimum LP earning in AAdvantage.

What you are referencing is earning in Mileage Plan on AA flights flown when your AS FF# is in the AA PNR.
