By the way, I love for parents to sit with their children. I just think that's something they need to plan for by booking in advance.
You place a lot of (too much?) confidence in the capacity of the average Jane/Joe for planning ahead when it comes to air travel, other than buying a ticket. Even if they are sensitive to it, they likely still book BE if available, in which case *womp*womp* on advance seat assignments. (for the record, I too am in favor of families with young kids sitting together, for the sake of everyone on the flight).
