Stayed here for four nights last week and absolutely loved the property with no regrets on spending 45k points per night. I don't think its exactly the best property ever compared to other aspirational points hotels such as WA Maldives, WA BH, Ventana Big Sur but a step up for PH Tokyo and Andaz Tokyo. We didn't find the location to be as bad as its made it out to be as taxis were cheap and readily available in Kyoto. Also, the bus stop that connects with most train stations was only a 5 minute walk away. The surrounding area is beautiful and super walkable as well for food, shopping, and sightseeing.

As a globalist, upgraded to a room with a private garden though had the option of taking a pagoda view room with two twins pushed together but we didn't want to wait for them to do that.

I enjoyed the bathhouse as well and was the only one using it 2 of the 3 times I used it.

The Japanese breakfast was delicious and worth the extra for one morning. Otherwise, found the buffet and western menu to be high quality even though the selection wasn't as large as the Andaz or PH Tokyo. Also highly recommend eating launch at Hiramatsu Kodaiji next door as the outdoor terrace view was stunning and the food really good as well. Kobe Beef steak Mouriya Gion nearby is also good for a walkable wagyu dinner. Champagne hour was ok though we only used it once because of the timing. Surprisingly we showed up a few minutes after it ended and they still let us indulge in a glass.
