500 € per night is a very good price for a luxury hotel even in October.
First of all, from my point of view, Africa should not be compared with Spain. From my point of view it is quite unusual to travel with a guide in Spain. Basically, it all goes excellent on your own.
To recommend luxury hotels, you would first have to know where to go. In Andalusia/ Costa del Sol, for example, the Finca Cortesin comes to mind, otherwise there are several good options (Alfonso in Sevillia, La Bobadilla in the center) that I would not necessarily call luxury. In Barcelona, for example, the Mandarin comes to mind, in Madrid the Ritz or Four Seasons.
