Accor MXP properties: egregious airport shuttle pricing (EUR 40-45)

I`ve been a regular guest at the MXP Ibis/Novotel usually staying there for one night before longhaul flights, sometimes another night when returning for more than a decade. These are classic airport properties located next to each other in Cardano al Campo, a seven-to-ten-minute ride away from T1, less than 5 min to T2.
Until 2020, the (contracted) shuttle from the airport to the property used to be free, and you had to pay EUR4 for the ride back to the airport the next morning. Even back then, the service wasn't the most reliable (best to call the hotel an hour before you were supposed to arrive to make sure you'd get picked up on time), and one needed to be in-the-know about the pickup location (T1: arrivals level by gate 10) which is not disclosed on the website or signposted anywhere.
Post-pandemic, the price for the shuttle increased to EUR 20 (daytime) resp. EUR 25 (evenings) per person one way, so now a return journey to and from the airport costs EUR 40-45, that's over 50% of the room cost.
Alternatives are Uber (EUR18) and taxis (EUR25). Or - and what I will do going forward - staying elsewhere. Accor loyalty definitely isn't worth 45 Euros to me.
The Best Western right next door to the Ibis charges EUR 5 for the shuttle (they have their own service, not contracted like the Accor properties do), and places closer to the airport like the HGI or the Moxy with free transportation to the terminals now are not only more convenient but also cheaper when factoring in transportation cost.
Paying more for less convenience - no way, Accor!
Hotel staff told me the price increases are due to 'increases in fuel prices', and that's also what they reply to any negative reviews about this fact left on sites like tripadvisor. That would justify an increase from 4 to 5 or maybe even 6 Euros and something I`d consider acceptable, but 20? No chance.
