I received a bonus travel certificate in exchange for willingly (volunteering) to take a later flight. I would like to use the value of that certificate towards a summer trip to Europe (somewhat open to arrival city). I would ideally originate from a Bay Area airport like SFO or SJC. Since Alaska doesn't fly to Europe it seems I would need to find a routing that has Alaska for at least one flight segment so I can buy the tickets through Alaska Airlines and use my travel certificate funds. The challenge is in finding these routings. I haven't had any luck using Google Flights even though that was how I got the original Alaska itinerary (which was just one leg on Alaska and the rest on Copa). Any guidance would be appreciated. Discount codes are only valid on AS flights or flights operated on behalf of AS; Horizon, Skywest & Pen Air. You won't be able to use the discount for a flight to Europe.

Routes: Discount valid between all cities served by Alaska Airlines, on flights operated by Alaska Airlines and flights operated on behalf of Alaska Airlines by Horizon Air, Sky West and Pen Air. Not valid on codeshare flights. Based on published fare routings and some cities may not be available.
Since discount codes are not valid on codeshares, you can’t apply the discount code to an AS marketed, AA flight; ie SEA-LHR.
It may be useful if you need to reposition to a city that has better fares to where you are going in Europe or to reposition for an award.
