P2 currently holds two Chase United Gateway cards and two Chase IHG Premier cards. The former began as Explorer cards (acquired at different times & later downgraded); one of the Premier cards started as a Traveler card, recently upgraded because the anniversary flex cert is worth the AF to our household.
I’ll edit my previous inaccurate statement to: I do not believe Chase will approve an application if one has an existing open identical card (account).
