I only get to have breakfast at the lounge (and not at the restaurant) and if it's not open on the weekends, I get compensated with 1000 points per day when the lounge is closed. The Marriott Bonvoy Loyaty Program Terms & Conditions include a short list of Marriott legacy properties that only provide a paltry 1,000 points in lieu of breakfast if the lounge is closed. The list changes over time, so don't rely on what I've posted here (although this is current as of 5 minutes ago).
For me, it's an "avoid these hotels" list. After all, they'll gladly sell you an expensive breakfast, but they don't see value in taking care of guests with a record of loyalty.
The following properties in the United States do not provide free continental breakfast in the hotel restaurant in the event the Lounge is closed but do offer 1,000 Points in lieu of breakfast. These properties include:
