Yep as others have said, generally can get away with it, but there are times when the rules will be arbitrarily enforced to a T, iiregardless of cabin. A few weeks ago at BKK, the check in supervisor (in a grey uniform) came out while I finishing my check in formalities at the F desk and said I need to weigh your bags because they seem to big to be carry on. I was literally a single kilo overweight between the 2 and they made me check my roller board. And this is for F on a 380 where there are multiple large dedicated closests at the front of the cabin for 8 F pax’s suitcases and other luggage. So generally I’d say you’d be ok, but when they lay the law down, they law it down hard so really depends on how risk averse you are.
