I am probably going to do something similar.

I have a United Gateway card which is 10+ years old. My Quest AF hit recently. Last year I got $100 statement credit, but seems like people arent getting again, so I will probably just cancel the card. The 2 year credit history isn't doing much for me, and what do I need 2 Gateways for.

I plan to hang on to the Gateway for referral purposes to get something for P2, probably explorer. Once P2 gets, I will have her refer me back, for the explorer.
